Regional Priorities

Identifying and addressing regional needs

Based on a variety of data sources and work in the field, REL Northwest has identified three high-priority challenges facing educators and policymakers in the region:

  1. Educational Equity: Achieving greater equity by improving outcomes for all students
  2. School Improvement: Turning around low-performing schools
  3. High School and Beyond: Increasing graduation rates and preparing students for postsecondary success

Through our research alliances and other activities, REL Northwest is working side-by-side with stakeholders to conduct data use, analysis, and research projects; and share actionable findings that can inform policy and practice. Along with providing targeted tools and approaches for addressing the region’s priority needs, REL Northwest also works to build the capacity of state and local education agencies to use evidence in decisionmaking.
